Just an announcement: I’ve uploaded a new version of MyWard. Basically there are two changes:
- MyWard now uses the 2.0 .NET Framework. If you don’t have this installed, you will need to. You can download it using Windows Update. (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com)
- There was a bug on visiting teacher links not linking to the right place. This has been fixed.
You can download the latest update at:

Thanks,
Dustin
Thanks to all of you who continue to point out errors
I’ve updated MyWard to fix the issue where only the first visiting teacher for an indidual is being displayed. Now both visiting teachers should properly be displayed. I also added a link to the support forum in the help menu.
Thanks,
Dustin
I’ve released yet another build. I’ve gotten several reports of an error to the effect of:
Syntax error: Missing operand after ‘WHATEVER‘ operator.
I had thought I had fixed all these errors, but missed a few in the visiting teaching conversion (since I have incomplete visiting teaching data to test with). This should now be fixed.
Also, I think there were some errors with the vising teaching links that this also resolved.
As usual, you can download the new version here: www.shiblon.com/downloads/MyWard2Preview_Setup.msi
Thanks,
Dustin
I’ve uploaded a new build of MyWard this morning. This should fix the problem with the Speed Directory. Previously, the links worked from the home page, but did not work on a speed directory page.
You can download the new version here: www.shiblon.com/downloads/MyWard2Preview_Setup.msi
Thanks,
Dustin
Happy New Year!
It’s been a while since my last newsletter. There’s not much new as far as software or updates on Shiblon.com. I finished my bachelor’s degree in December, so I can’t use that as an excuse anymore
But I have kept myself pretty busy doing PHP freelance work. If you’re curious you can see my portfolio at portfolio.davisvillage.com.
I’ve put up a forum on Shiblon.com. I’ve thought about doing it many times, but never acutally did due to fears overwhelming public criticism, and dealing with moderation issues and spammers. Putting the cons aside, I think a forum will be helpful to allow users to answer each others questions when I’m backed up on emails - and get questions answered faster via searching the archives. So I invite anyone who is interested to sign up and participate in the forum. You are always welcome to send me an email if that is your preference.

Thanks again for all those who provide support and feedback.

Hello Everyone,
I hope you’re all suffering through this hot summer month like I am! Just kidding… but not really.
I’m writing this newsletter to let you know that I’ve uploaded a new beta version of MyWard. I’ve put the link on the MyWard download page. (http://shiblon.com/desktop/myward/download.php)
I went through my email archive and I hope I have resolved the bugs that you have reported. If I’ve missed anything, please email me again, or email the beta group list at myward_beta@googlegroups.com (http://groups-beta.google.com/group/myward_beta)
One other thing, a few months back I started working on a tool to log in to lds.org, download a ward directory and convert it to a CSV file (with the thought that I could then convert this to other formats such as YanCEyWare, Plucker, iSilo, etc.). My tools works for my own ward page and personal login, but I’m not sure if it will work for others. If anyone wants to test it out for me, send me an email and I’ll give you a copy and brief instructions on how to run it. I’d would also be curious if people are interested in this type of tool.
And that’s about it. I hope everyone is doing well and doing your home/visiting teaching!
Thanks again everyone for your support,
Dustin
