To download Pocket Home Teacher, visit http://shiblon.com/ppc/pht/download.php
and click the icon. Your download should start automatically.
Once the file has completed downloading, find the path where
you saved the downloaded file, and double click to begin the installation.
Follow the on screen instructions to install.
Pocket Home Teacher makes use of the .NET Compact Framework.
This is already included on all new Pocket PC 2003 devices. If you are using
Pocket PC 2002, you will need to install this if you have not done so
previously.
Also included in the install file, are setup files for SQL
Server CE, and OpentNETCF. These are both required
for Pocket Home Teacher operation. To learn more about these technologies see

After installation, on your Pocket PC device, select Start à
Programs. Locate Pocket Home Teacher and tap to run.
Upon the initial run, a SQL Server CE database will be
created. You will be assigned a pin of ‘1234’. Use this to log in for the first
time.
Use the on-screen keypad to login in to Pocket Home Teacher.
After successfully logging in, you may change your pin by
select the File Menu à Change Pin. Key in your new pin and tap the Save
button.
On the Family tab, tap the Add button to open the Add Family
screen. Enter the family details in the provided text boxes. Any miscellaneous
information can be included in the notes text field.
To view family details, on the Family tab, highlight the
family name you would like to view or edit details for. Tap the View/Edit
button. If you wish to make any changes, do so and tap the Save button,
otherwise, tap Cancel.
To remove a family from your list, highlight the family on
the Family tab grid and tap the View/Edit button. Tap Delete to remove the
family.
On the Members tab, tap the Add button to open the Add
Family Member screen. Enter the family member details in the provided text
boxes. Any miscellaneous information (such as birthdays) can be included in the
notes text field.
To view family member details, on the Members tab, highlight
the family member name you would like to view or edit details for. Tap the
View/Edit button. If you wish to make any changes, do so and tap the Save
button, otherwise, tap Cancel.
To remove a family member from your list, highlight the
family member on the Members tab grid and tap the View/Edit button. Tap Delete
to remove the family member.
On the Visits tab, tap the Add button to open the Add Visit
screen. Enter the visit details in the provided text boxes. Any miscellaneous information
can be included in the notes text field.
To view visit details, on the Visits tab, highlight the
visit record you would like to view or edit details for. Tap the View/Edit
button. If you wish to make any changes, do so and tap the Save button,
otherwise, tap Cancel.
To remove a visit from your list, highlight the visit record
on the Visits tab grid and tap the View/Edit button. Tap Delete to remove the
visit record.
To save your companion contact information and other
information, enter the information on the Comp tab and tap the save button.
To save your home teaching coordinator contact information
and other information, enter the information on the Coord
tab and tap the save button.
To obtain a registration code, you will first need to obtain
your Pocket PC device owner name. This can be found (and set) by tapping Start à
Settings à
Owner Information. Look in the “Name:” text box. Or, from within Pocket Home
Teacher, tap Help à Register and you device owner name will be
displayed.
After obtaining your registration code, log in to Pocket
Home Teacher. Select Help à Register and enter your code in the text box
provided.
